Meet the team
Simon Collins – Managing Director
While he finds himself in the office frequently, he stays ‘on the tools’ by providing clients with service on Gas appliances & Central Heating. Besides managing the business, he also undertakes the key task of quoting both large and small scale jobs as required. He believes that the best way to build business, is to ensure clients get superior customer service. To that end, the latest technologies and systems support customer service levels.
In his ‘spare time’, Simon enjoys getting out on his bike for motorcross, the odd game of golf , working on his lifestyle property and spending time with his young family.
Lindsay Davy – Operations Manager
Lindsay begun his career as an apprentice and has since been working in the industry for 27 years. Lindsay is a Certifying Plumber and has a background in both plumbing predominantly and also gasftting and his career has mainly concentrated on the maintenance side of the industry.
Lindsay has worked for a variety of firms, one of which he worked for 15 years , where he was to become their Operations & General manager. He then went on to work for Felton Industries , a shower and tap ware manufacturer were he was their in house plumbing technician and was responsible for warranty issues, design , training etc.
Lindsay joined the Collins Team in May 2014 as our Operations manager is is looking forward to working within their growing team. Lindsay’s key responsibilities are running & organising of the schedule and tradesman, general quoting, & project management.
In his spare time Lindsay enjoys a round of golf, music and spending time with his family.
Simone Mathyssen – Office & Accounts Manager
With a background in corporate administration and also working for some time as a trained florist, Simone joined Collins Plumbing in 2010. She runs the office like a well-oiled machine and takes care of managing the administration staff and the accounting side of the business.
Since joining Team Collins, Simone has studied Business Bookkeeping and Accounting and very much enjoys her role within this busy environment where she’s continues to learn more about tour busy industry each day.
A a working mum, Simone only works part-time at present, working in the office two days a week , and completing the rest from home. She is loving being a mum to her toddler and enjoys cooking, gardening and up-cycling projects in her spare time.
Hayden Booth – Manager of Drainage & Civil Division “Collins Civil & Drainage”
With over 10 years in all of the above fields, Hayden has experience in high pressure drain unblocking CCTV drain investigation, pumping systems (water and waste) waste water management systems, storm water management systems, general plumbing, gas fitting and drain laying, site excavations and large drainage installations.
Having moved from Dunedin in 2011 to see what the big smoke was all about, Hayden was referred to Collins plumbing and Gas once he had come back from his big OE in 2013 and was impressed with what our company had to offer and came on board.
Hayden has been given many opportunities within the company and enjoys the team enviroment of the 2 company’s.
Out of work Hayden enjoys the outdoors especially, Kayaking and dirt bike riding.
Linda Reid – Office Administrator
Linda joined the Collins team in August 2014, having previously worked in Administration Roles & Customer Service, Linda has a great experience in customer service and relations from her previous work experience and brings these skills into her role at Collins where she provides back up to the Receptionist as required and support to both Simone the Office Manager and Lindsay with daily Operations. Linda is enjoying learning new things about our specialised trades everyday and is of great assistance to our field staff. Linda is a key part of our Office Support team and excels in her role.
Jo Young – Office Adminstrator
Jo joined the Collins team in September 2014, having previously working as a trained Hairdresser & in Sales, Jo has a great background in customer service and administration. Jo took on the challenge to change industry’s and is enjoying learning new things about our trades every day. Jo works hard to look after our trades people on the road and in the office is a vital part of our administration team.
In her spare time Jo loves traveling in NZ and abroad. Having spent time traveling throughout America and Europe.
Nikita Cribb – Receptionist
Nikita started at Collins in August 2017 bringing with her a great deal of experience in customer service from her previous work experience. This is Nikita’s first office position , but already she is excelling in her role and is a bubbly and valued member of our team. Nikita was looking for a challenge and a chance to take on a new career direction. Nikita says she has been met with colleagues who have guided her to become a confident team member within our office. If you call our office you are likely to speak with Nikita , she is what we like to call our “Director of First Impressions”. In her spare time, Nikita enjoys playing netball and traveling.
